Garlic Parmesan Roasted Brussels Sprouts Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (450g) Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (or to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
  • Red pepper flakes (optional, for added heat)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving, optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Prepare the Brussels Sprouts: Wash the Brussels sprouts and trim the stems. Cut each sprout in half. If they're very large, you can quarter them for even cooking.

  3. Season the Brussels Sprouts: Place the halved Brussels sprouts in a large mixing bowl. Drizzle olive oil over them and add the minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and dried thyme (if using). Toss the sprouts well to ensure they are evenly coated with the seasonings.

  4. Spread on a Baking Sheet: Arrange the seasoned Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet. Make sure they're not overcrowded, allowing them to roast evenly.

  5. Roast in the Oven: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast for 20-25 minutes, or until the Brussels sprouts are tender and the edges have turned golden brown. You can also give them a toss or shake the baking sheet halfway through for even roasting.

  6. Add Parmesan Cheese: About 5 minutes before the Brussels sprouts are done, sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top. Return the baking sheet to the oven and allow the cheese to melt and become slightly crispy.

  7. Serve: Once the Brussels sprouts are tender, remove them from the oven. If you like a little heat, you can sprinkle red pepper flakes on top for extra flavor. Serve the roasted Brussels sprouts with lemon wedges for a fresh zesty touch.

  8. Enjoy: These Garlic Parmesan Roasted Brussels Sprouts are best served hot. They make a fantastic side dish for a variety of meals.

These Brussels sprouts are packed with flavor and are a perfect combination of tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. They make a great side dish for your favorite entrees, whether it's roasted chicken, grilled steak, or a vegetarian meal. Enjoy!
