Recipe: Honey Garlic Shrimp Stir Fry

 

Ingredients:

For the Honey Garlic Shrimp:

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil for cooking

For the Stir Fry:

  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (bell peppers, snap peas, carrots, broccoli, etc.), sliced or chopped
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • Cooked rice or noodles for serving
  • Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Honey Garlic Shrimp:

    • In a small bowl, whisk together minced garlic, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, cornstarch, water, salt, and pepper to make the sauce.
    • Pat dry the shrimp with paper towels and season lightly with salt and pepper.
    • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
    • Pour the prepared sauce over the shrimp in the skillet. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the shrimp. Remove from heat and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Stir Fry:

    • In the same skillet or wok, heat another tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and grated ginger, and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
    • Add the mixed vegetables to the skillet and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until they are crisp-tender.
  3. Combine Shrimp and Vegetables:

    • Return the cooked honey garlic shrimp to the skillet with the vegetables. Stir everything together until well combined and heated through.
  4. Serve:

    • Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions, if desired.
